About 1/3 of the time, the mechanism doesn't catch, or the clip hangs up on the barrel of the pen.I visited a pen store last weekend--their demonstrators were *much* better. Pushing down hard makes a nice, even, very broad line, but the reason for buying a roller ball is to NOT HAVE TO PRESS HARD!!!!!
